Incorporate something you love and or collect in your wedding. If you collect antique tablecloths or purses, use them to decorate your reception. Use vintage jewelry on your tables or in centerpieces. Use antique tablecloths for special reception tables. How adorable would collectible toys be on a pretty cake?

Dear Cheap Chic Weddings,

I have a question. We are planning a small informal wedding for fall of next year. By the time the wedding rolls around, we wil have lived together for 3.5yrs. We have everything that we need household wise. We have heard of this new trend called honeymoon registries. where your friends and family can just put cash in an account aimed for the honeymoon instead of buying traditional gifts. Have you heard of this? IS it taboo to announce we have a honeymoon registry instead of sears or hechts? Also regardless of how or where you register, how do you announce this to your guests? Do you drop a special card in the engagement announcement or invitation saying we are registered with....? I am soo confused about the whole I like the idea of the Honeymoon registry, I am just not sure how to go about announceing it if it is acceptable. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Bonnie Sims

Hi Bonnie,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I think Honeymoon Registries are a fantastic idea. It is absolutely acceptable to do this. It just makes good sense since you and your fiancé have been together for a few years and your household is set up.

There are a lot of companies that have Honeymoon Registries and they even give you nice cards to put in your invitations announcing your registry..

You can check out some of these companies:

You can also do a search on Google or Yahoo for Honeymoon Registries. Good luck and if you need anything else, please let me know.

Best Regards,

Love It.........Hate It

Love It:

* Russian inspired accessories

* Cuff bracelets

* Anything purple (make-up, bridesmaid dresses, jewelry, cakes, flowers)

Hate It:

* Purple tuxedos (o.k. we did say we loved anything purple and hate it is a little strong, but we do think purple tuxedos are a little over the top.)

We love silicone baking cups. No muffin pans are required. They are great to use if you want to ice a whole cupcake (great for cupcake wedding cakes). Just pour in the batter and place on a baking sheet. When done turn them over and pop out. You can just rinse them out and fill again. They are oven safe to 500 degrees and dishwasher safe. They can be found at Crate& Barrel. The price is $12.95 for eight cups and can be used over and over.

We have the greatest pre-nuptial agreement in the world. It’s called love. Gene Perret
