Money Saving tip

Fill the reception room with lots of white pearlescent balloons. You can add any color or style ribbons to go with your theme. If you use a lot of them you can create drama inexpensively.

New Ideas

Bright bridesmaid dresses. Think fuchsia, kiwi, and tangerine. Also any pink for spring seems to always be “the trend” and is always classic.

I am getting married in June and I would love to have my mother as my matron- of- honor but I don't know if that is done. I do know that some grooms have their father as best man. Is it proper etiquette?

Dear Amanda,

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.

We have had several letters with this same question. We certainly think it is perfectly acceptable to have your mother as matron-of-honor or attendant. After all you are probably closer to her than anyone. At one time it was unheard of but that has changed and we say go for it.

Best regards,

LeeAnn Holly

Love It.........Hate It

Love It:

*Centerpieces made of fruit and flowers together

*Pearls (fake or real) never go out of style

*Eco friendly weddings

Hate It:

* Some of the magazine ads for grooms wear. They are over the top. I need realistic help to dress my man.

We love the Conair Infinity Hair Dryer. This is the best blow dryer I have ever used. My hair is curly and tends to be frizzy but with this dryer my hair turns to silk. It straightens like a charm without the damage of a flat iron. Plus I can even style it curly but my curls are silky and bouncy. It has ceramic, ionic technology. I don't know exactly what that is but it does what it says: straightens, shines, controls frizz, volumizes and the head rotates too. I found one at Wal-Mart for about $57 dollars. That's a lot cheaper than going to a stylist for your big day!

This day I will marry my friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with, love
