Monograms are big for weddings, including cakes, favors (even M&Ms), etc. They aren't just for towels anymore.

Wide headbands for the bride are seen everywhere. Scarves, metallic lace or lace and regular head bands are being used to pull the hair back.

Like many of us, I have followed your issues religiously! They are a wealth of knowledge!

I am getting married in November this year, and I had already finished planning the details of my wedding. Just waiting to start buying when my Fiance turned around and said he didn't want the colour scheme I had chosen. Needless to say I was mad! Hadn't I asked him over & over again to give me his opinions and all I got was "I'm not bothered!"? He claims it was too early to decide. I have to call all our attendants and warn them not to buy anything just yet! The colour's changed! The short of the long is he wants purple as it is his favourite colour. What shade purple do I chose coz as you can guess, I'm not getting any help there..! Purple is beautiful but too dark could make it mournful, what other colours can I make it light, elegant & summery? Elegance & Sophistication is paramount, please help!

Hi Barb,

Thanks so much for the kind words. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

When I think of purple as light elegant and summery I think of shades of lavender. Lavender looks beautiful with light crisp green. But the best way to decide on the color is to scour through wedding magazines and get color ideas from the pictures. You could also visit your local paint store and get free color chips. (you know those strips of paper with varying shades on them)You can see which colors look best together and which shades of purple you and your fiance agree on.

Good luck with your planning and if you need anything else, please let me know.

Warm Regards,
