DIY Wedding Cake For Less

If you like to be in the kitchen, do it yourself. The internet is not only a great resource for wedding planning tools but for recipes and baking tutorials.

You can either print off a great recipe or watch a video on how to do it. I wanted a very specific cake and after calling many local bakeries (even some ladies who work from home), the lowest quote I received was $300.

Well, I got my notebook out and looked on line for recipes. I took that list to the local market and wrote down the exact prices with tax and figured including the pans to bake them in, decorations and dividers, I was really only looking at $120 max.

So I am saving $180 by doing it myself.
