Finger Food is better than sweets
by: Anonymous

My cousin had only desserts at her wedding reception and it was a disaster!

Many of the elders such as the grandparents were diabetic or had health issues and could not eat sweets.

Unfortunately the ceremony was an half an hour and the guests had to wait an hour and a half while the bridal party took pictures so everyone was famished for food and could barely stay for the reception because they were so hungry!

It would have been better to serve fruit and vegetable platters and cheese and crackers so that the guests weren't forced to only eat sugar.

Dessert's the way to go!
by: Nikki

I couldn't afford a full meal, so I had a dessert reception. The wedding was around 2, so everyone had already had lunch.

It was HOT (in late May) so ice cream was the main dessert, complete with bowls of the best toppings. There was also banana pudding (I'm a true southern gal!), cream puffs, cheesecake bites, lemon bars, brownies, peanut butter fudge, cupcakes, fresh fruit, and cheese to cut some of the sweetness.
