I am going to get my cake at Walmart.

It's very inexpensive and feeds anywhere from 100-120 people and its under $200!

5-TIER WEDDING CAKE WAS A HUGE HIT!!!!

I was married October 2011, and got a 5 tier cake from Walmart for approximately $150. The cake was gorgeous and tasted absolutely delicious.

My guests raved over the cake, as they assumed I got the cake from an expensive bakery or the Publix bakery. Walmart exceeded my expectations at my wedding reception!

No, they don't deliver, but an employee from the bakery was nice enough to assemble the cake for me after they got off work.

I wish I could post a photo of the cake...it was breathtaking and delicious!!! Take my advice, get your wedding cake from Walmart and save your money!!!! No one will know the difference unless you tell them!!!

Bakery fresh...Not frozen

Betty Crocker fresh or WalMart Frozen... for God knows how long!!!

My cakes are fresh made with home made butter cream. Maybe you think WalMart cakes taste good.

Try them after you have a fresh baked (yes even Betty Crocker)cake with real butter cream (Not out of a tub)

I'm getting married June 2012 and I'm going to order my cake from the Walmart in Mass. I've seen their work and do a great job and they have reasonable prices.

I asked a baker how much she would charge me for a dummy cake she said $180 and I asked her how about a real one she told me $400! For God sake she works out of her house and she uses Betty Crocker cake mix I only know cause I've been to her house and seen all the Betty Crocker cake mixes.

Yes, the word here is BUCKET of icing!! Also the cakes come Frozen! I do charge more for the cakes I make, But the old saying "you get what you pay for " goes double here.

Home made fresh cake and icing that I would challenge walmart to even come close to!!!!

I wasn't even aware that walmart did wedding cakes until a friend ordered one for her wedding...I was skeptical at first, but the cake was GORGEOUS and tasted even better than it looked!

She paid less than $200 for it, compared to over $500 for a cake from another grocery store bakery.

I loved the cake so much I am ordering one for my wedding next month. For the price you can't beat it!!

Another Walmart Cake Decorator.

I've been decorating for 2 months now, had no experience when I started but caught on fast. It all depends on who you get to decorate your cake and how steady their hand is with the piping. (It's really stressful on the hands).

We can try to match designs up to certain limitations of who ever you get to decorate your cake. We also try to do it the day of or the day before, depending on when you ordered it.

My suggestion is to order your cake like a month or so in advance, and I would try to find out who they consider the better cake decorator and request them. For my store, we have someone who has been doing it for 15 years, and she's amazing.

Every cake decorator has their own style and will do different work on different cakes.

I just order my cake from WalMart for my wedding April 23 and I saw a lady pick up one and it was beautiful...so I can only imagine how mine will turn out but I will keep my fingers crossed after hearing these comments!!!

I am a cake decorator from walmart

I just wanted to let the girl know who said the frosting is 6 months old that it is not true at all. We use about a bucket of frosting a day and the cake..yeah it comes in frozen but the cake is awesome and I don't even really like cake. It does depend on the cake decorator. I know if you bring in a picture for me in Tucson where I work, I will do my best to make it the way you want to even the color you want. I am pretty good at matching the color.

I bought my Wedding Cake from the Walmart I worked at in Webster Texas and it was delicious. I got so many compliments on it and no one knew it came from Walmart. The cake decorator there did an awesome job and it was in the colors I chose. If I had it to do all over again I would get another cake from Walmart.

Priced too high for what you get

If you check local bakers (try facebook and google) you can find a nice looking cake for a comparative price. Try a bakery that's just starting out. Tell them your budget and see what they can do.

WalMart cakes were made in some factory, frozen weeks ago and shipped in. Then they are iced with 6 month old icing. On top of that, OMG they are so ugly. They look like they died in the 1980s.

I promise you we had the cake from Walmart at our wedding and every guest had their fill and some.

The cake was moist and designed perfect. All I can say is that if you want to save money and look rich this is the way to go!!!!!!

All of our guests do not believe that the cake came from Walmart. Great job Walmart

When on a budget, you cant go wrong!

I searched high and low for the best prices on wedding cakes and well, this is the absolute best deal ever!

A 3 tier cake, or cascading style cake that feeds up to 128 people for $138.00, filled for $158.00... If you bring them in a design they will try to match it as well.

I'm going to make my own floral arrangements for the top and between the tiers to accent my wedding theme. Cake is cake... your just gonna eat it anyways, and I've never had any complaints about the quality of their cakes.

Great Bargain!

I ordered a white wedding cake with buttercream frosting for a 60th wedding anniversary. The cake was 135.00 and served 140 people.

When I picked it up it was fresh and was beautiful. It was packaged in very secure boxes for transport and great easy assembly instructions.

I bought fresh flowers and cut off the stems and decorated the cake. It matched all the others flowers used in the celebration. It was beautiful and delicious.

Everyone commented on the beauty and the taste. WOW! What a great bargain. I will do this again for any celebration I am planning. FIVE stars!!!!!

I think the person who decorates at walmart makes the difference. The cake that I saw at the wedding where she bought the walmart cake was extremely ugly and it was $180. I ordered the same size from an individual who has retired, it had a torte style, whipped cream and strawberries and it was beautiful and only $175, no tax she delivered and set itup, it was great. I will not buy another wedding cake from the walmart where I live, they have no talent.

We are going to get our cake from walmart because lets face it...cake is cake is cake...it can vary sometimes in the moist part but it is still the same.

Also, since my fiance comes from a huge family, to save money, in addtion to the cake, my bridesmaids and mom are going to bake cupcakes the night before as a little bonding thing to do the night before the wedding.

Some of our guest wont want a full piece of cake, and a cupcake would do just fine. Our colors are green and brown, so we are thinking of doing chocolate cake with green icing, and then dye white cake green with chocolate frosting and alternating them on the cake table.

I ordered my wedding cake from Walmart.....It was vanilla and had white icing and piping. It cost $250 and fed over 150 people and we had 2 tiers left over! It was so good. The only thing was the stand that we got with the cake, could not hold it all up....the cake was too heavy.

So my mom and I got creative and sat each tier on the table top that had been covered in Christmas lights and tulle.....put my toppers on top and we got so many compliments! This is a great, cheap idea......and is so good!!!

My husband works for walmart and dont have any family here so we did not get much help for our wedding our cake came from walmart and it was great and no on know were it came from the thought we payed a lot for it and we told them it was from walmart and they did not belive us we love out cake and it was perfect

I love this idea! I'm a young bride, with no help from my parents so it's nice to see everyones ideas. I will probably look into this! Seems like a great idea, and who cares...your just going to eat the cake...so why spend a fortune on it? Especially since I don't like cake, or desserts in general!

I don't like my local Wal-Mart's cakes or cupcakes, but I DO love my local Giant Eagle's, so I will definitely look into this! I'm so thankful for this (and other) sites that try to help us low-budget brides!

I purchased a cake at Walmart for a friends wedding, $180, 3 tier. It was delicious, it was beautiful, it's such a practical idea when trying to save money. No one knew where the cake came from but me and the bride and she got so many compliments on it.
They have a lot of different designs to choose from and are willing to alter their designs for your style, I will be ordering my cake from Walmart when I get married next summer!
