Wedding Themes Are Creative And Fun

Wedding themes might be the way you want to go. There are so many options to choose from. Choosing a theme can make planning easier and save money.

Creating themes can be as simple as picking certain colors or as elaborate as your budget allows. Your theme can be included in your engagement party, your shower, and all through the wedding and reception.

All of the ideas on this page can work hand in hand with all of our other pages. All can be done within your budget. It just takes planning and as always, a little help from your friends!

Some wedding themes you might consider…

  • Western wedding themes- Think, bandanas, arriving on horseback, and barbecue food for the reception.

  • Beach/Seaside- Have everyone in the wedding party dressed in white linen or gauze. Or use aqua blues and sea greens. Decorate with seashells and sand. You can add beautiful shells to your cake too! Keep it natural and light.

  • Midsummer- Wear flowers in your hair and keep the wedding party's clothes light. Use sunflowers and daises everywhere. An informal picnic in a garden is fresh and summery and a money saver.
  • Medieval- Marry in an old church or botanical garden. Rent Medieval costumes for the wedding party. Use dried flowers, nuts and fruits in the décor. Make your own flags, banners, shields, and "family crests". Ladies can wear garlands and flowers in their hair.

  • White Winter- Think all white! Use white flowers and silver bows. Wear crystal or rhinestone jewelry. Decorate with floating candles. Use inexpensive tiny white lights. Serve Hot Chocolate, Specialty coffees or Hot Cider.

  • Fairytale/Cinderella/Princess wedding themes- Again, rent costumes for everyone. Use lots of beautiful Tulle and ribbon. Decorate with multiples of lit candles. Think Romance!

  • Your heritage, culture- Are you Irish? Scottish? American Indian? Use your heritage as a base for your theme. Family members and research can help you with making it authentic.

  • Victorian wedding themes- Think lots of lace! Use muted shades of pink, purple and creams. Victorian weddings can be indoors or out. Serve tea and sandwiches, or make it coffee and elegant desserts.

The choices for wedding themes go on and on. Remember to find inspiration around you to tie it all together. Include as much detail involving your theme as budget allows.
