New Ideas

Alternatives for bridesmaid’s bouquets are chic and cheap. Here a few interesting substitutes:

* Decorated fans

* Paper flower bouquets

* Ribbon flowers

* Pomanders (use inexpensive artificial flowers or pretty greenery)

Hi, I love the idea of adding a charitable component to my wedding reception. But what?? I don't like the idea of a canned food drive or having people write cheques for an organization. Can you be more specific with your suggestions. Your ideas would be appreciated. Thank You.

Sincerely, Jane - September Bride

Hi Jane,

It is so great that you are considering adding a charitable component to your wedding. Here are a few suggestions for you. One way to add a chartible contribution is to use a reception facility that is owned and operated by a charity.

Second, if you have a favorite cause, like the environment for example, your party can plant seedlings in a designated spot. A popular thing right now is to set up a charity registry. There are several websites that offer this service. Basically, you set it up, then your guests donate to your cause. They generally offer ways for you to check the progress.

You may still want to receive gifts, a good solution is to offer two registries, one at a favorite store and one for a charity. You can also donate things after the celebration. Set it up so that your flowers wll be delivered to a local hospital or nursing home. Share the beauty with others. I hope this helps. Thanks for writing...

Love It.........Hate It

Love It:

* Bangles make a bold statement at a casual wedding.

* A single flower in the bride’s hair instead of a vale is a very pretty look.

* A red and blue color theme is so beautiful. Light blue with bright red is especially striking.

Hate It:

* Wedding ads with outrageous headpieces and crazy hairdos-don’t they know we’re looking for real ideas.

Start thinking of designs and practicing for our Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest. It will start June 1st so stay tuned. We are looking forward to all the great ideas you come up with.
